Summary:
Maymunah's curious little mind wonders about Allah and how much He loves her. When she poses this simple question to her mother, her answer is deeper than Maymunah has imagined. Allah's love for her is greater than the grains of sand, the fish in the sea, the stars in the sky etc. Then her mother reminds her that her love for Maymunah is greater than those things as well, for which she explains that Allah's love for her is even much greater than her mother's. 🌸
Lessons:
This sweet little book is a wonderful description of Allah's love for each of us. I think it's done in a way that a young child is able to comprehend the idea of Allah's great love, that it isn't anything she can compare it to. The interaction between Maymunah and her mother is cute and sweet, at the same time maybe a little cheesy. When Mama goes in depth to explain that even the greatest things in this world do not compare to the love Allah has for her, then she jumps in and says even her love is greater than all those things. However, she does conclude by clarifying that Allah's love for Maymunah is even greater than her mother's love for her. I am not too sure about this order of the storyline, I think it there is a possibility that it could have been done better, or maybe not. Nonetheless, I think it's a great book to promote critical thinking in young kids and simplify complicated concepts into something they can understand. This is the first book in the series of Maymunah's Musings planned to be on the topic of Allah's names. I am curious to read what the next book will bring.
