Review:
I absolutely love the approach of this personalized book. Firstly, it allows you to choose a fitting character, add a name and write a personalized not or a message. It begins with words of encouragement directed at the child about the all the importance of inventions and contributors. Follows with the four historical figures mentioned above and each one ending with a special tool that each had that helped them achieve their success. Fatima al-Fihri had her generosity, Abbas ibn Firnas had persistence, al-Zahrawi had kindness and care and, finally al-Idrissi had adventure. The book concludes with what all the inventors had in common which is the Islamic faith. The entire book is brilliantly written in rhyme with perfect flow and captivating illustrations. I love that their Muslim identity is highlighted as an important part of their identities. This book is such a fun and informative read. We had read about Fatima al-Fihri before but the other 3 contributors were new for us. A great addition to your bookshelf, as well as a great option for gifting.
