Summary/Review:

As soon as I saw @islamicschoollibrarian post a review about this unique Canadian story, I knew I wanted to get my hands on this book. I remember years back when I was attending a weekly youth halaqa that our youth leader had mentioned the incredible journey of this Masjid.

This masjid was constructed in Winnipeg then travelled over 4000km to northern Canada in Inuvik. The masjid had to go through narrow roads, small bridges and sail on a huge river. This story is absolutely mind-blowing. The community that worked together to make this incredible project a reality for the growing Muslim community in Inuvik is truly remarkable. The book is minimal in words but powerful in pictures. Having a background in drafting, I hold a special appreciation for the 2-dimenional details in the illustrations. Absolutely Every Canadian Muslim child needs to read this book and become familiar with the story of the Midnight Sun. Every Canadian will appreciate the power of diversity that showcases what Canada is truly made of.
