My Dad is... by Abdullah Mansoor

📚 BOOK REVIEW 📚 Title: My Dad is... Author: Abdullah Mansoor Illustrator: Husna Aghniya Publisher: Gifted Muslim Type: Fiction Age: 5+ Rating: 9/10 🌟 ⭐ Islamic Content: Prophet Muhammed (saws) ⭐ Concerns: None ⭐ Summary: The teacher asks her students the jobs their amazing dads do. The kids take turns to tell the class the great selfless professions: farmer, trader, teacher, soldier, imam, charity worker, community worker, counselor, builder. Each child also explains what those jobs mean and what they entail. In the end the teacher asks, "do you know anyone who did all.of these jobs and more?" All the kids respond with "Muhammad (peace be upon him)." ⭐ Review: This is a great book to give the kids an idea of some important roles that the Prophet (saws) had in his time. The main thing I love about this book is the fact that they praise their fathers for doing great work for their communities while acknowledging and relating them to the Prophet Muhammed (saws). This will be a great opportunity for a discussion: What an insightful perspective, especially for the kids. When we think of jobs or work, we think of something a person does to earn a living for themselves and their families. However, with the exception of one, the Prophet (alayhi salam) did all of them without anything in exchange, except to receive the reward of Allah (swt). The illustrations are adorable. I would have preferred that in the end the word 'Prophet' would have been added instead of just 'Muhammed'. The last page encourages the owner of the book to write about their own amazing father and what they do. I would definitely recommend this book for all young Muslim readers. ⭐ Available: @gifted_muslim, Amazon #mydadis... #abdullahmansoor #muslimkidsbooks #islamickidsbooks #muslimauthor #muslimkidslit #raisingmuslimreaders
