My Deen Magazine

📚 BOOK REVIEW 📚 Title: My Deen Magazine Publisher: My Deen Magazine Team @mydeen_magazine Type: Monthly Magazine Subscription for Kids Age: 2-4, 5-7 Rating: 10/10 🌟 🌸 Islamic Content: People of the World, the creation of Allah 🌸 Concerns: None 🌸 Summary: My Deen Magazine is a monthly subscription informative/activity magazine for kids. Their magazines are separated into three age groups; ages 2-4, ages 5-7 and ages 8-11. Every month a different theme is chosen to teach the child the topic in detail. This month's theme is, in one word, diferences. It covers the definition of culture, what it means to be different, finding similarities, introducing other religions and countries, the Islamic perspective - we are ALL Allah's creation. As Allah tells us in the Qur'an, there is a great deal of emphasis on getting to know each other and our differences and finding similarities. 🌸 Lessons: Let me start by saying that this time around, my kids were super excited to receive and open their magazine because they knew exactly what to expect: Islamic activities. I was looking forward to this edition especially because it gave me the perfect opportunity to introduce my 5-year-old to some new terms of beliefs other than his own, all this through the Islamic lens. This theme revolves around the Surah 49, Ayah 13 "O people! Indeed we have created you from male and female and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may 'get to' know one another. Surely, the best of you in the sight of God is the one who has taqwa." The content in this edition really emphasizes that, as Allah (swt) indicates, we should get to know one another and respect those differences. I think it is explained beautifully and easy for the kids to understand. The activities are mainly related to the theme, others are activities to practice arabic letter and numbers. As you can see in the photos, the illustrations really show the diverse range of characters through cultural clothing, skin tone, hair as well as facial features. Just like before, each magazine is a mirror of the other however one is more elaborate in those topics over the other simplified version. I find the information in the magazines quite useful and beneficial so I know I will keep them so that I can always re-read with my kids. In the future, I would love to see a possible theme that focuses on peoples different abilities. 🌸 Available: www.mydeen.club #mydeenmagazine #monthlyislamicmagazine #peoplearoundtheworld #muslimkidsbooks #islamickidsbooks #muslimauthor #muslimkidslit #raisingmuslimreaders
