Islamic Content: Muslim Family, Saving the Masjid

Concerns: None

Omar is back. He and his two best friends, Charlie and Daniel work out a plan to raise funds for repairs in their local mosque because it is at risk of being closed down. With the help of his teacher and principal, they are able to raise almost 1500ยฃ. However, when that money goes missing, they go on a mission to find out who has stolen it.

Seriously, what is not to love about this middlegrade series? Omar's lovable personality and quirky jokes keeps the reader hooked. It is amazing how the whole community comes together to support him and raise funds in order to save their masjid. You can really see the growth in the three main characters from the 1st book as individuals. Their friendship is so genuine and exciting as they get to know more about each other everyday. His relationship with his teenage sister is so relatable, with the daily bickering but great love and support when it really matters. And of course my favorite thing about this series, is how naturally and smoothly the Islamic aspect are incorporated into the storyline, without being overly done or preachy. The kids are guaranteed to be hooked into the story and giggle all the way to the end. Honestly, this series is what our Muslim kids have been missing from their lives. I just love @zanibmian's work and always on the lookout for her releases.
