This book covers the stories of three clever women-companions who lived in the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and how they each uniquely contributed to Islam and what their roles were. Khansa bint Amr (the Poet), Aisha bint Abi Bakr (the Teacher) and Rumaysaa bint Milhaan (the Noble) (may Allah be please with them all).

One of the toughest things to find in the Muslim lit industry is biographies of prominent Islamic figures (male or female) that are age appropriate and easily digestible for the young readers. The combined professional strengths of the authors, teachers who love writing and reading with qualifications in Islamic Studies, have brought us the high quality product that fills this void in Muslim children's literature.

It is a read to be used as an introductory source to female Islamic figures, the first in its series. The approach of the these incredible stories has been related to daily concepts which allows the readers to directly connect to the described traits and make them attainable at their level.

The book opens by explaining the status of women before Islam and how that changed after. It is sprinkled with Arabic terminology and dua. At first I was puzzled at this deliberate selection, however as I read it with my children, I am extremely grateful that among a well known female scholar of Islam, I have the opportunity to learn about two other companions I knew nothing about.

This is a must have book for all Muslim libraries and household shelves. I will be eagerly waiting for their next book in the series, inshaAllah.
