Yusif is nervous and excited to start school at Dar Al Ilm Academy. This is the first time he will be away from his parents for such a lengthy time. He shares a dorm with Reda, Warsome and Daud. They embrace each other's unique traits and become close friends. There are four houses within the school and it's the tradition of the school to have their internal academic competition. Their adventurous school journey enriches their knowledge of the deen and encourages them to adhere to the teachings of the Qur'an and the Sunnah. When they start noticing that their projects and assignments are disappearing, which negatively affect their scores in the competition, the four friends stay alert for clues to get to the bottom of this mischief. ๐ŸŒธ

There are so many lessons to be learned in this chapter book that listing all of them would take the whole review. I just can't say it enough - I LOVE THIS BOOK- When parents ask for age appropriate books for tweens, this is the answer to their request. The book is written well and kept me drawn to it. The reader will get to know each of the characters very well and may even find themselves relating to some of their traits. Qur'anic ayat and hadith are consistently trickled throughout the book in a very natural way. The characters in the book come from a range of different backgrounds and family settings. I love the fact that even though they are trying their best to follow the best role model, the Prophet (saws), they do make mistakes. How those mistakes are used as a learning opportunity ans personal growth just makes me love the book even more. If I could give this book more than a score of 10, I would! If your Islamic school doesn't already have this book, please make them aware and ask them to add it to their collection. This is a book that every Islamic school and masjid needs on their bookshelf. This is book one of two in the series.
