This is the first set in this series and I absolutely love them.

Review:

Just like the Yasmin series, these early-reader books are just so amazing. They give insight to a Muslim Somali family and their everyday life through Sadiq, the protagonist. He is a curious, bright boy who takes on tasks and sees them through. These stories include STEM, teamwork, community, contribution, family and more. His Muslim identity and his Somali background are part of who he is, they are never the dilemma in the stories. This is exactly the stories our kids need to read. Each book includes and his family introduction and background information on Somalia. In the end, a two-page spread of unfamiliar terms as well as a DIY project. I can't wait to get my hands on the 2nd set of books which include Ramadan.
