Review:
I wanted to begin my Ramadan book reviews with this hilarious book! Ever since it arrived at my doorstep when it first released months ago, my kids had me read this countless times and they will still go back to it from time to time. When we think about Ramadan books and stories, almost all of them are books that explain what Ramadan is, what fasting is, and giving charity. This story is set in the masjid, the community has gathered to share the iftar together, it is so refreshing to see this comical story taking place in a familiar setting for our kids.
The book is written in rhyming couplets as Auntie Sophia prepares a samosa tray to take to the iftar potluck. From the moment she swallows the samosa, her belly goes on fire and she tries to settle it by consuming other foods. The silliness of this story will have your kids laughing, giggling and their eyebrows raised. This is such a fun read for the family, in the classroom and even at the masjid to read during Ramadan!
