Review:

This first book in the early read chapter book series of Zara's Rules is fun and engaging. Through the arrival of the new neighbours, her friendships are threatened and she comes up with a plan to win her friends back. I love that friendship is at the center of this book. This book explores on how to gracefully accept change within friendship circles. Although the protagonist and her family are Muslims, Islam is not in the center, rather culture is. Zara's determination about having a breaking record teaches her to come up with a plan that can include all her friends. This book's universal and relatable message is a great read not only for Muslim kids, but for all kids for this age.
